Furnace Wine tasting session leader is UK Salesperson of the Year

Linda Ward, from Minard, who led the wine tasting session at Furnace Village Hall last Friday, has been named Salesperson of the Year by the company she works for, Vintage Roots. The company itself has had the major distinction of being named Independent Wine Merchant of the Year by wine industry bible, Decanter Magazine.

Congratulations to local plumbing firm, A & D Watt for landing a three-year plumbing maintenance contract with Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA). Given the recession, this contract and the security that goes with it, could not have come at a better time. Well done.

Furnace - Lochgair roadworks start on Monday 10th November

With new water mains being laid, the road between Furnace and Lochgair, through Minard, will be disrupted in both directions from 8.00am on Monday 10th November until 6.00pm on 31st December 2008. Temporary Traffic Lights will be in operation.

Cumlodden Church Christmas Bazaar
